Hello! Welcome to my blog where I will be sharing my life as I find my way through my twenties including fashion, beauty and life

Back to the basics

I began blogging whilst at university and fell in love the whole idea of sharing tips, tricks and my favourite things. I enjoyed it so much I set up my own blog upon finishing university!
When at university I used to upload weekly and I had myself in a nice little routine with it. So, I decided to stick to a similar thing with my personal blog. Although good at times, I found I was then just writing for the sake of it as opposed because it was genuinely something I wanted to talk about. So, I changed it up and began to upload as and when I wanted and about something I really wanted to share and not just because it was a Sunday and I had to write a weekly post.
It has been 4 months exactly since my last blog post and life has been crazy to say the least. I have laughed and cried, I have wanted to re-live moments and wished some moments had never happened. The past few weeks in particular I didn’t want to blog because I was down and if I’m honest I wasn’t sure I wanted to share how I was feeling. But, looking back on the past few weeks, I could have really done with typing it all up, letting it all out and maybe attempting at giving myself advice.
It has been during this time, I realised what I liked about blogging so much. It was my place to document my life, let out how I was feeling and almost give myself advice as if I was talking to someone else. I feel like sharing when you are sad is just as important as when you are happy. Nobody’s life is perfect all the time and if you keep it bottled in, it will only get worse. If anything, it is nice to see you are not alone in how you feel sometimes.
I have really missed blogging and writing this post to you now, I can defiantly tell I am rusty! I am going to try and get back into it any minute I can in the hope that it will cheer me back up, and hopefully help some of you too! I have realised that it’s okay to not be okay and it’s better to let it out then bottle it up. So, I can’t promise I won’t share the odd ‘feeling low’ post, but I hope in me sharing the downs as well as the ups, people can see that life is never perfect and we all have our good days and bad days.
So here it goes….

With it being such nice weather across the UK I decided to join my sister on a trip to the farm with the little boy she nannies. She found one in the New Forest called Longdown Farm, where you can actually feed the animals - awesome I know! I don't know who was more excited, me or little Oscar haha!

When we arrived we got our tickets which were rather cheap at just under £10 and free entry for little ones, so great for a day out on a student budget.

I wasn't really sure what to expect which sounds silly but I haven't been to a farm since I was a little girl, i've only ever really been to the zoo! But OMG it was amazing! They had so many farm animals from cows, pigs and horses and donkeys to chicks and guinea pigs.

The first animals we saw were the cows and their calves and they were so cute! They had lovely big eyes and looked so soft. We were lucky enough to be there as they were being fed and even got to give them a bottle!

We then saw the pigs and their piglets who were so tiny and I must admit I fell in love and wanted to take one home. We also saw the donkey and a huge horse who was a gorgeous chestnut brown colour.

Next on the list to see was the baby goats who were also due a feed when we saw them. They were full of energy and defiantly ready for a bottle. The farmers told us that unlike the cows who stayed in their paddock whilst we fed them, the goats would be let put and come to us. So the bolt was lifted and out they came very excited and gulping the milk down. I loved it so much I did it twice!

We then ventured round to the chicken pens where we got to look and see if they had laid any eggs, sadly we only found one but hey better than nothing! Next up was the petting area where we got to hold chicks and guinea pigs - adorable!

Overall it was an amazing day and I think I fell in love with every animal and wanted to take it home haha. Well, thats all from me and my crazy adventures for now!

Time For A Catch Up!

I can’t believe it has been 2 months since my last blog post! I am very sorry I have been off the radar for so long, it has been quite a crazy 2 months. So I thought, I would return with a catch up post about what I have been up to over the past two months. It may be a long one, so get comfy, grab a cuppa and a biscuit (or two) and let’s get into it!
The last time you heard from me was at the start of May and OMG has a lot changed since then! During that month, I finished my dissertation along with two other assignments and completed my third and final year – crazy I know! I honestly can’t believe it’s over and don’t think it will really hit me until September when I don’t go back to Birmingham.  The month of May was probably one of the most anxious as everyone was rushing round like headless chickens trying to get everything finished, checked, printed and submitted. But when that was all over it was a weight lifted of my shoulders and felt so good. Since then I have had a few results back and am very pleased, now I am just waiting for the final result that will tell me what I will graduate with. Fingers crossed!
Finishing uni also means I have now moved back home from Birmingham. This day was a weird one as I didn’t want to leave the city life where everything was so close to walk to and there was always something going on. I also didn’t want to leave my friends at uni and work. However, I did feel ready to come home for some much needed fresh air and to see my friends and loved ones from home. So, I got all my boxes and suitcases and packed the lot! It was so weird to see my empty room once all the decor had been taken down but I was looking forward to putting it in my room at home as I am planning on re-decorating it.
It wasn’t all calm when I returned home, as I was straight into work as well as trying to catch up with friends and family. We also had our kitchen ripped out and re-done so that added a bit of chaos to the house as we lived off microwave meals and take-out (this sounds great at first but after a few days, you do get a bit fed up).
I also took a few trips away in the past two months too! I had a girly weekend in London with my best friends from school and college which was so much fun and defiantly going to be something we do more often. I also had a week away in sunny Ibiza with my house mates to finish celebrating university together. We chilled round the pool, had lots of laughs and maybe one too many drinks haha! I will spill more details in another blog post.
The past few months have absolutely flown past and I have loved every second of it! However, I have missed blogging and plan to try and make it a regular thing, as I have loved reading back my past posts and can't wait to be able to save more memories on here! So, that's all for today and keep an eye out for more crazy adventures, trips, tricks and life stories from me.

Trip to the worlds biggest Primark!

Yes, you read the title right. I am finally going to be sharing with you what I bought when I visited the biggest Primark in the world!

Before I show you what I bought, I just want to say how amazing it was! Thos of you who know me will know I am a total shopaholic for everything and anything from shoes and clothes to homewear and stationary. As a student, I also LOVE a good bargin. So, when I heard they were building the ultimate Primark in Birmingham, I knew I had to go before finishing uni there. The shop officially opened on a Thursday, so I thought I have Sunday off work, hopefully it won't be too crazy and I can pick up a few things.

I went with one of my housemates, so we got there early in the morning so we could have time to browse before it got too busy and the shop looked like it had thrown up on itself (if you have ever been to Primark in the afternoon, you will know what I mean!). I was in my element, it was laid out so nicely with cute little features here everywhere and there was so much to choose from making it much better than the old Primark. With all 5 floors, it didn't feel as rammed as I thought it would because there was plenty of space for everyone to move about in. I would highly recommend going if you need some bargins and plenty to browse through!

Okay, now I have got that bit out of the way, here is why many of you may have clicked on this post... to see what I bought!

The first thing I picked up were a pair of grey joggers. OMG they are the softest and most comfiest things ever and I can tell I am going to be living in these! At just £5... yes £5 I couldn't not buy them haha

I then came across these pink trainers for £14. Now, at first I said ooo they are cute as I walked past but didn't pick them up. But, after a few minutes I was still thinking about them so had to go get them! I have never really worn what I call clunky trainers, but I know there was a trend for them at some point. So, in my favourite colour and very comfy I decided to try something new and treat myself! I have now worn them a few times and have not had blisters or anything!

The next thing I picked out was a cute denim skirt. I was a little worried about trying this on for I have a small waist but large hips so often can't get them over or if I do them it's way to big around the waist. But, this fit absolutely fine! I could wear a belt with it if I wanted to give my waist a bit more definition, but I don't need one. Was so happy I fit into this, it is comfy to move in and it's a nice coloured denim too! At £10 I thought this was a steal.

While in the denim isle I also found a black denim dress which I knew would look cute with a little white t-shirt underneath it. At £13 I felt this would be another steal for my spring/summer wardrobe.

After round 1 in the changing rooms, we came out and went for round 2!

This time, I spotted a pretty black crop top with a kind of lace material over the top and thought it would be nice for a night out or even when going for dinner. So, at £8 that went straight into my basket and I love it!

I picked up a pair of black skinny jeans with the idea that I would try them on with the black top to see what it would look like. However, the intention to give them back didn't last long when I saw them in the mirror! I kid you not, they looked exactly like my Topshop Joni jeans I have at home. They fit me perfect, easy to move in and the colour was perfect jet black. I could not believe my eyes when I saw they were £10! Crazy I know, so they went with me to the check out as you can never have too many black jeans.

I also found a rail of coulottes and was feeling brave so I thought I would give them a go. I never thought they would suit me as I thought I was too short, but I was pleasantly surprised! I didn't go too crazy and did only get black ones but hey i'm getting braver trying new styles! They were very comfy and I can be styles casual or more dressy, so at £13 they were a good purchase.

So, that is my first Primark haul! I hope you enjoyed it and it has given you some shopping inspiration!

Easter Treats

This week, I thought I would share with you a simple sweet Easter treat - chocolate nests! I don’t know about any of you but I used to love making these as a child and haven’t had one in ages! They are quick to make and only need a few ingredients so cheap too. I bought chocolate bars and mini eggs, however you could use left-over chocolate eggs and mini eggs you may have been given for Easter. I will warn you though, they are very tasty and you can’t have just one!

Ingredients: cornflakes, chocolate, mini eggs

Step 1 - Bring a pan of water to the boil

Step 2 - Line you cupcake tray with cases whilst waiting for the water to boil

Step 3 - Place a bowl on top of the boiling water and break the chocolate into it

Step 4 - As the chocolate melts stir until smooth

Step 5 - Take bowl off the pan (turn off the heat) and add cornflake cakes - Note: add a little bit at a time

Step 6 - Stir the cornflakes into the chocolate

Step 7 - Once all cornflakes have been covered, place a spoonful into each cupcake case

Step 8 - Place mini eggs of the top

Step 9 - Place in the fridge to cool

Step 10 - ENJOY!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and give these a go!
